LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a victim struck by a vehicle during a recent street takeover.
Las Vegas police say officers received reports of illegal street driving taking over the intersection of Mount Hood Street and Ann Road on Saturday, April 25.
Patrol officers and the LVMPD Air Unit responded around 3 a.m., with the helicopter spotting a blue Ford pickup truck performing dangerous driving maneuvers in the intersection.
Officers attempted to stop the truck, but it sped away. Police did not pursue.
Detectives later identified 22-year-old Cesar Sosa as the driver. Sosa was arrested on Thursday, May 7, and booked into the Clark County Detention Center on a charge of disobeying a peace officer and other driving-related offenses.
Investigators also found a social media video showing the pickup performing illegal maneuvers before officers arrived and later striking a bystander.
