LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — State and local leaders cut the ribbon on a new apartment complex in the Historic Westside.
shareWESTSIDE is now open at the corner of D and Jefferson streets. The apartment complex has more than 100 units. More than 80 of those are designated for workforce housing.
It also has 9,000 square feet of retail space.
Las Vegas City Councilwoman Shondra Summers-Armstrong, who represents Ward 5, hopes this and other new housing options keep more people in the community long term.

“People are going to want to lay and move up, get married, have some children. We don’t want them leaving this community. We’re putting too much heart and soul into this community for it to just be transitional. And I’m excited that we’re going to have housing right down on the other side of D Street at E in Jefferson for purchase,” Summers-Armstrong said.
Summers-Armstrong also said more projects are coming to the Historic Westside to help it grow.
