LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Southern Nevada Health District said no additional tuberculosis were found after one active case at a local school.

SNHD and Clark County School District initially identified the case in December. The person who tested positive had visited multiple school district campuses, and students and staff at Ruthe Deskin Elementary School were identified as having potential TB exposure.

More than 600 people who were possibly exposed can get tested in late January.

SNHD said to date, more than 550 students and staff were tested for TB infection and no additional active cases have been identified.

Not everyone who may have been exposed will be infected and not everyone who is infected has active disease, according to SNHD. The Health District offers treatment for those who are exposed and found to have a TB infection to prevent further spread.
