LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Spring Mountain Ranch State Park and Valley of Fire State Park will close temporarily this fall for maintenance and improvement projects, officials say.
Officials say Spring Mountain Ranch will close Nov. 2 through Nov. 8 and reopen Nov. 9. Planned work includes painting, road maintenance, lawn and pasture care, and cleaning.

Valley of Fire will close Dec. 1 through Dec. 14 for its annual maintenance closure and reopen Dec. 15. Officials said high visitation, staffing shortages and summer heat make offseason maintenance necessary.
Both parks will be closed to all public entry, including on foot. Commercial activities including weddings, photo shoots and guided tours will be prohibited. Camping reservations will not be available at Valley of Fire during its closure.
Visitors are encouraged to visit other Nevada State Parks during the closures. More information is available on the Nevada State Parks website.
