The complaint said hackers accessed the company’s systems and compromised personal information belonging to customers and employees. The lawsuit said the stolen information may include names, email addresses, physical addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, driver’s license numbers, passport numbers, vehicle details, credit card information, Social Security numbers, tax information and casino credit details.

Station Casinos operates properties in the Las Vegas area including Durango Casino & Resort, Red Rock Resort Casino & Spa, Green Valley Ranch, Palace Station, Sunset Station, Boulder Station, Santa Fe Station and Wildfire Casino locations.

The lawsuit alleges the company failed to implement reasonable cybersecurity measures to protect the data. It said hackers were able to infiltrate the systems, identify valuable files and download data without being detected.

Geiner said she provided personal information to the defendants as a condition of employment and services. The lawsuit said she reasonably believed the information would be protected.

The complaint said the company has not disclosed key details about the breach, including the exact dates, the root cause, vulnerabilities exploited, remedial measures taken or the full extent of information accessed.

The lawsuit alleges negligence, negligence per se, breach of implied contract, unjust enrichment, invasion of privacy and seeks declaratory and injunctive relief.

Geiner is seeking class certification, monetary damages, credit monitoring and identity theft insurance for affected individuals, and court orders requiring the company to strengthen data security systems.

The lawsuit said the hospitality and gaming industries are prime targets for cyberattacks because they store large amounts of sensitive data.

Station Casinos has not publicly commented on the lawsuit.
