LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A man and woman are dead after two vehicles collided on Interstate 11 outside Las Vegas on Sunday morning.

According to Nevada State Police, troopers responded to the crash around 6:53 a.m. on northbound I-11 near mile marker 12. It was determined that two vehicles were involved, and two adults – one male, one female – were confirmed dead at the scene.

Initially, both north and southbound travel lanes on I-11 were shut down from the U.S. 95/I-11 junction to Boulder City Parkway. All lanes remained closed for several hours while an investigation was conducted, but reopened around 12:15 p.m.

Police say additional information will be provided at a later date, and it is currently unknown if impairment played a factor in this crash.
