LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Super Bowl is about three weeks away in Las Vegas and local nonprofits are working to do some good in the community.
The United Way of Southern Nevada has partnered with the Las Vegas Super Bowl Committee to host its Day of Service.
200 volunteers will be planting trees at All American Park to help provide shade during the summer months.
They don’t need anymore volunteers for that, but they do need volunteers to help prepare for the event. The nonprofit is looking for people to put together planters that volunteers get to take home.
“I want them to get involved with a nonprofit organization,” said Karen Alonso, vice president of marketing for UWSN. “Feel how good it is to serve the community. Hopefully it’ll allow them to grow in other ways and want them to continue giving back.”
If you would like to help, it’s happening tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the United Way of Southern Nevada.
