LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Golden Knights fell to the Carolina Hurricanes 4-2 in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final on Thursday night, putting Vegas in a must-win situation.

The official watch party at T-Mobile Arena drew a large crowd of fans who arrived with energy and optimism, hoping to see the Knights take control of the series that was tied 2-2 entering the night.

“A little bit for sure, but we’ve got this,” one fan said before the game.

The game remained close early, with both teams battling to a 1-1 score.

“I’m a little worried, but I believe in our players. We’re good,” another fan said.

Momentum shifted in the second period as Carolina built a 3-1 lead. The Hurricanes went on to win 4-2.

“Some of the calls were tough, and it felt like things weren’t going our way. I thought we’d battle back, but it just didn’t happen tonight,” a fan said.

With Vegas now facing elimination, fans said the team must respond in Game 6.

“We’ve got to win and bring it back to Vegas. That’s the best way to answer this loss,” one supporter said.

Fans said another Stanley Cup would further cement the Golden Knights’ place in NHL history.

“Winning another Stanley Cup would solidify us as the greatest expansion team in NHL history. Three Finals appearances and two championships—that would be huge,” a fan said.

The Golden Knights will look to stay alive in Game 6 on Sunday. The team needs to win the next two games to capture the Stanley Cup.
