LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Professional women’s volleyball is returning to Southern Nevada.
The Vegas Thrill will resume play in January 2027 under the new ownership of local entrepreneur Michael Landier, the team announced.
The franchise paused operations during the 2026 season to secure strong local ownership.
Landier, a longtime resident of nearby Henderson, steps in to anchor the franchise as it prepares for its return to the court.
“Operations were paused for the 2026 season in order to secure strong local ownership,” the team said in a statement.
A New Name for the League
When the Thrill returns to action, they will compete in Major League Volleyball (MLV)—the newly rebranded league formerly known as the Pro Volleyball Federation.
The upcoming 2027 season will feature an expanded lineup of 12 teams competing across the country:
- Atlanta
- Columbus
- Dallas
- Grand Rapids
- Indy
- Los Angeles
- Minnesota
- NorCal
- Omaha
- Orlando
- Vegas
- Washington D.C.
Season Details and Ticket Information
The four-month regular season will run from early January through late April 2027, culminating in the MLV Championship in early May.
The Thrill will play all home matches at Lee’s Family Forum in Henderson.
The official 2027 league schedule is expected to be released this fall, most likely in October. Individual match tickets and season memberships will go on sale after ticketing details are finalized following the schedule release.
Community and Merch
In addition to returning to the court, the Thrill announced plans to support youth volleyball in Southern Nevada by offering free clinics to the local community.
Details on the clinics, along with new official team merchandise, will be released in the coming weeks.
