LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A 61-year-old woman died after being rescued from a house fire Tuesday morning, according to Las Vegas Fire & Rescue.
Crews respond to smoke report
Las Vegas Fire & Rescue and Clark County Fire Department responded to a structure fire at a two-story residence in the 1600 block of Muinos Street at 6:23 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 1.
A neighbor reported smoke coming from the structure and was unsure if anyone was home. LVFR crews arrived and found visible smoke and flames.

Woman rescued from residence
Crews began operations to contain the fire and search for possible occupants before they found and rescued a 61-year-old woman from the residence. The fire was extinguished at 6:38 a.m.
The woman was transported to University Medical Center’s Trauma Unit for care. After resuscitative efforts by UMC Trauma Center staff, she was pronounced dead at 7:18 a.m.
Cause under investigation
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Fire investigators are assessing the scene and working to determine the cause. Material damages are estimated at $50,000.
Las Vegas Fire & Rescue personnel will conduct the department’s “After The Fire” community outreach program in the surrounding neighborhood to share fire safety tips, answer questions, and address community concerns.
