LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Woodbury Middle School cut the ribbon on a fully rebuilt campus, showcasing a new era for the school.
District leaders, elected officials, staff, students, alumni and neighbors gathered for a rededication ceremony honoring the school’s history while marking a new chapter. Woodbury first opened in 1972.

The new campus was paid for through CCSD’s 2015 Capital Improvement Program and features flexible learning spaces, upgraded safety and security measures, and modern classroom technology.
Buffy Banks-Grove, the principal of Woodbury said the school has plans for expansions, including a STEM focus.
“Our kids are ready for that STEM focus next year here in our building, because as you know, STEM is a pathway through the future,” the principal said. “And if we don’t teach it now at the middle school level, they’re going to be left behind. So our plan here next year is to explore and engage them in STEM-related pathways.”
School and district officials said the redesign is meant to give students more ways to learn and to keep Woodbury a strong center of opportunity.
