LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A suspect was arrested in California in connection with a deadly shooting in North Las Vegas last summer.

On Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at approximately 1:35 p.m., NLVPD officers responded to reports of a shooting in the parking lot of a shopping center on the 2200 block of E. Centennial Parkway. Arriving officers found an adult male, believed to be in his late teens, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Medical personnel responded to the scene and took the victim to University Medical Center Trauma with life-threatening injuries. That male later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital and was pronounced dead.

NLVPD Homicide Detectives were notified and they took over the investigation. The preliminary details were that the suspect fled the scene before officers arrived and detectives believed this was an isolated incident.

Through the course of their investigation, NLVPD homicide detectives identified 18-year-old T Coal Mckinley as the suspect in this case. An arrest warrant was issued for Mckinley for the charge of open murder with a deadly weapon.

On January 8, the Los Angeles Police Department arrested Mckinley and he was booked into the Los Angeles County Jail on that outstanding warrant.
