LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A 24-year-old motorcyclist died Sunday afternoon following a collision with an SUV in Southwest Las Vegas, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
The fatal crash occurred at approximately 2:33 p.m. near the intersection of South Fort Apache Road and West Arby Avenue.
Investigators said a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling southbound on Fort Apache Road approaching Arby Avenue, while a 2025 Indian Scout motorcycle was heading northbound in the opposite direction.

A collision occurred when the driver of the Jeep attempted an eastbound left turn directly into the motorcycle’s path. The front of the SUV collided with the front of the motorcycle, ejecting the rider onto the roadway north of the intersection.
Emergency medical crews responded and transported the motorcyclist to University Medical Center’s Trauma Center, where he was pronounced dead. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.
The driver of the Jeep, identified as 30-year-old Nicholas Olajos of Las Vegas, was not injured, stayed at the scene, and showed no signs of impairment.
