LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – FOX5 is getting a better look of the scene that played out at Red Rock Casino earlier this month, thanks to newly released 911 tapes.

A stabbing, that led to a shooting, told by those who were inside at the time.

Police have identified 25-year-old, Shayne Sussman as the suspect in this case.

Police say the stabbing of two casino workers was unprovoked, according to the arrest report. Witnesses telling their stories as the scene played out in the building.

“I believe I heard either a firework or a gunshot go off in Red Rock Casino,” says one anonymous caller whose name has been redacted. This prompts the 911 operator to ask if he knows if anyone has been injured.

“I do not, I’m just under the table Other people are laying behind the chairs.”

Others left their post racing toward the restroom when they heard the commotion, like this unnamed caller.

“We just heard gunshots. We work at Lucky Bar, like, right in the middle. Me and my co-worker, we just ran to the bathroom.”

While the bartenders sheltered in place in the bathroom, another caller telling the operator she had to get a closer look at the scene, since her friends were still inside when shots rang out.

Las Vegas police released the audio after a stabbing and shooting at Red Rock Casino.

911 operator: “What’s going on? Where are you at?”

Caller: “My friends are in the Red Rock Casino, and I was leaving on the phone with her, and she screamed that shots were fired, and I’m running back inside.”

Police telling us multiple 911 calls came in shortly after 1 a.m. on Aug. 3rd from the casino floor. However, police say most callers were phoning police about a shooting, they didn’t even know of the stabbing.

Before the shooting, security said Sussman tried to enter a closed restaurant, and appeared to be “under the influence.”

The suspect is accused of stabbing the two workers in an unprovoked attack after being approached from behind before he was shot by security, according to the arrest report.

An internal memo from the Vice President and GM wished the two employees a quick and complete recovery. He praised the security team’s actions during the “rare and isolated, but very serious incident.”

The suspect faces multiple attempted murder and battery charges, according to court records.

No bail has been set for him as of yet, and his next court hearing is scheduled for Aug. 19th.
