LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A suspected drunk driver is critically injured after crashing into a concrete wall in the southeast valley on Saturday morning.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the crash occurred around 4:15 a.m. on Hacienda Avenue and Nellis Boulevard. Police determined that a Honda Accord was making a left turn onto westbound Hacienda, but failed to negotiate the turn and left the roadway.
The Accord then collided with a large concrete cinder block wall behind a nearby residence. Both the wall and the vehicle were heavily damaged, police say.
Arriving medical crews took the driver to Sunrise Trauma, where the 21-year-old man remains in critical condition. Police add that the man displayed signs of impairment, and a DUI investigation was conducted.
The passenger, a 23-year-old man, also reported minor injuries but refused transport.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
