LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV Lady Rebels will be home back at the Cox Pavilion for the next two games, first hosting Air Force on Wednesday, Jan. 15 at 6 p.m. The Scarlet & Gray are looking for their seventh win in a row, and their sixth straight win in Mountain West play.
ABOUT AIR FORCE: UNLV holds the overall series 51-5 against the Air Force and have won 23 straight games against the Falcons. Air Force heads into Wednesday’s contest with a 10-6 overall record and 0-4 in Mountain West play. The Falcons are currently led by Milahnie Perry and Madison Smith. Perry is averaging 16.6 points per game, while Smith is averaging 14.9 points per game. The rebounding leader is Jayda McNabb who averages 8.0 boards per game.

SQUAD LEADERS: UNLV currently has four players scoring in double-figures and are led by Amarachi Kimpson with 13.7 points per game. Kiara Jackson is the second leading scorer who is averaging 13.5 points per game and leads the Lady Rebels in assists with 5.1 per game and field goals made with 5.4 per game. Alyssa Brown leads the squad in rebounds, bringing down 7.2 per game. Meadow Roland is second for the Lady Rebels in rebounds with 6.2 per game.
NON-CONFERENCE WRAP: The Lady Rebels played the 23rd toughest non-conference schedule in the nation finishing with a solid 8-4 performance. UNLV collected two double-digit wins over Power Conference teams with 19-point wins over both UCF (Big 12) and DePaul (Big East). The Scarlet & Gray played opponents from nine different conferences in their non-conference slate.
LAST TIME ON THE COURT: The UNLV Lady Rebels are now atop the Mountain West with a 5-0 record after earning an 88-73 victory over New Mexico on Sunday afternoon at The Pit. The Scarlet & Gray (13-4, 5-0 MW) handed the Lobos (11-7, 4-1 MW) their first conference loss of the season. The Lady Rebels kept the MW road game streak alive and are now 21-0 against their MW opponents on their respective home courts. Four different Lady Rebels scored in double-digits and were McKinna Brackens’ career-high 20 points. Brackens shot 8-for-12 from the field, 2-for-3 from long range and was a perfect 2-for-2 at the free throw line. Aaliyah Alexander collected 18 points as she shot 8-for-15 from the field, made a three and was 1-for-1 at the free throw line. Alexander scored 10 of her 18 points in just the fourth quarter, as she didn’t miss a shot in the final 10 minutes that helped propel the Scarlet & Gray over New Mexico. Kiara Jackson had 17 points by shooting 7-for-12 from the field and 3-for-5 from behind the arc. Jackson dished nine assists for the third time this season, which ties her career-high. Amarachi Kimpson drained 13 points against the Lobos. Alyssa Brown was four rebounds shy from tying her career-high, as she brought down 15 rebounds against New Mexico. Of Brown’s 15 rebounds, five were offensive and 10 were defensive.
THREE-PEAT LAST SEASON: The Lady Rebels have continued to bring the heat last season, which culminated with a third consecutive Mountain West Regular Season and Tournament Titles. UNLV became the first program in MW history to claim both titles in three straight seasons. The Scarlet & Gray earned its third automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, a first in both program and league history. The Lady Rebels finished the season only one of two squads to have two (South Carolina) straight seasons with 30 wins. UNLV earned its highest ranking in both the AP and Coaches Poll coming in at No. 20 and No. 19. The Lady Rebels appeared in the Top-25 eight times this season and came into the season receiving votes for the first time in 19 years. UNLV claimed the MW’s Player of the Year in Desi-Rae Young (All-MW Team and All-Defensive Team), and Sixth and Freshman of the Year with Amarachi Kimspon (All-MW Team honorable mention and All-Freshman MW Team). Kiara Jackson earned All-MW team accolades and Alyssa Brown was named MW Tournament MVP.
WHAT UP SQUAD: The Lady Rebels return 10 of the 14 players from its 2024 championship squad, including two starters and Mountain West Sixth Player and Freshman of the Year Amarachi Kimpson. UNLV added two freshmen guards Teagan Colvin and Elli Guiney, and junior transfer Aaliyah Alexander from Eastern Washington.
