LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Social media posts from Las Vegas-based military groups warned followers of content removal on their pages, citing a recent executive order.

In a memo issued by the Department of Defense Thursday, military organizations were told to “remove all DOD news and feature articles, photos, and videos that promote Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).” The memo said all records from websites and social media must be archived and retained.

The memo cites recent Executive Orders by President Donald Trump and Secretary Pete Hegseth’s priorities lined out in a Jan. 29 memo titled “Restoring America’s Fighting Force.”

Social media posts by Nellis Air Force Base and the Air Force Thunderbirds, based in North Las Vegas, told followers that they were removing content consistent with the order.

FOX5 has reached out to the base and the Thunderbirds for a response.
