ELY, Nev. (KOLO) – The Bureau of Land Management is seeking public comment on their horse management plan for northeastern Nevada.

The plan would apply to around 1.2 million acres in the Antelope Valley area, as well as 1.6 million acres in the Antelope Valley West area.

The BLM says the appropriate management level for the Antelope Valley area is between 427-789 wild horses, while the appropriate management level for the Antelope Valley West area is between 472-889 acres.

Both complexes include both private and public lands.

“Public feedback on these will help ensure that we maintain a healthy wild horse population and habitat into the future,” said BLM Ely District Manager Robbie McAboy.

The documents related to the plan can be viewed here.

Comments can be emailed to [email protected]. The comment period will close on June 29.
