LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Upgrades are planned for a Henderson animal protection services facility, totaling $7 million, officials said.
In a release, the City of Henderson announced a $7 million investment in upgrades to its Animal Protection Services facility. The funds include money for renovations to the existing facility and the construction of an office building for staff adjacent to the current infrastructure.
“The planned upgrades are designed to enhance services for animals in the city’s care as well as strengthen operational efficiency,” the release said.
The city listed five items included in the upgrade plan: the addition and replacement of dog kennels; the addition of shade structures to the location’s adoption courtyard; expansion of medical space for animal treatment; the previously mentioned office building construction; and additional parking for guests and staff.
City officials said the project, currently in its design phase, is the result of a third-party report and feedback from staff and volunteers. The timeline and scope of the project have not yet been finalized, the release said.
