LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A structure fire at a two-story apartment complex Sunday morning displaced 16 residents and caused an estimated $250,000 in damage, according to Clark County Fire Department.
Units were dispatched at approximately 7:10 a.m. to 5050 Tamarus Street and arrived on scene at 7:14 a.m. The first-arriving engine found a working structure fire that had originated in a first-floor center apartment and spread to a second-floor unit and into the common attic space.

Fire knocked down in minutes
Firefighters extinguished the fire using aggressive tactics coordinated with vertical ventilation performed by two truck companies. A primary search and secondary search were conducted. The fire was knocked down at approximately 7:20 a.m. and was contained to the building of origin.
Four separate units were affected. No injuries to firefighters, public safety personnel, or civilians were reported, and no transports were required.
Resources and response
Clark County Fire Department deployed 41 personnel to the scene, including six engines, two trucks, two rescues, two battalion chiefs, one EMS captain, and two fire investigators.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, NV Energy, the American Red Cross, and RTC also assisted on the call.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
