Hard Rock Las Vegas to auction Mirage memorabilia

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — More than 300 items from the former Mirage Hotel & Casino will go to the highest bidder in an upcoming auction.

According to a release from the Hard Rock Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, an auction of items from the former Mirage Hotel & Casino will feature more than 300 pieces from the resort going to the highest bidder.

The items include more than 50 statues, among them two bronze mermaids and two brass dolphins that “welcomed guests for three decades at The Mirage.”

Joe Lupo, president of Hard Rock Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, said the artwork helped define the resort’s unique atmosphere for years.

“This auction gives collectors, Las Vegas enthusiasts, past guests who adored The Mirage and historians the chance to acquire authentic pieces from this storied resort,” he said.

Absentee bidding is available through Sept. 19, with live bidding set to begin at 10 a.m. Sept. 20.
