LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Court documents obtained by FOX5 shed light on the discovery of a “biological lab” found inside a Las Vegas home that left multiple people sick.
On Jan. 9, the FBI in Las Vegas received a tip after a woman notified the FBI in Sacramento of potential lab and medical equipment being stored in an Airbnb property in east Las Vegas, according to an arrest report.
The woman was reportedly contacted by a man who was known as the property manager to clean the home. She was responsible for cleaning two properties managed by Ori Solomon, 55, said the report.
On Jan. 31, Las Vegas Metro Police and FBI served a search warrant for two east valley homes located on Sugar Springs Drive and Temple View Drive.
FBI Witness Statement
The woman told FBI in an interview that one day, when she was on the property, she noticed the side door that led to the garage was left open. Solomon requested that she secure the door shut. The arrest report states that before locking the door, she looked inside the garage and spotted three refrigerators. She was also instructed to ensure the equipment was running properly. This is when she witnessed multiple large glass beakers with a red liquid inside.
She said the garage smelled like a hospital, the report detailed. “Not like a clean hospital but more of a foul, stale, stagnant air smell,” she said
Michael Harold, identified as one of 5 suspects listed in the report, was also hired by Solomon as a maintenance worker and was responsible for locking down and handling other duties across the reported properties, according to the report.
The report says multiple people became ill after being exposed to the material in the garage of the home located on Sugar Springs Drive, including some who spent time living at the home. The house cleaner told authorities that she became “deathly ill” and her symptoms included having difficulty breathing, muscle aches, and being fatigued to the point where she could not get out of bed.
The house cleaner found several boxes of drug tests at the home located on Temple View Drive. She told the FBI one of the boxes was labeled for fentanyl, opioids, and another had THC tests, the report detailed.
Property Manager Linked to California Lab
According to the arrest report, the maintenance worker transported equipment from a property located on Charleston to another residence. The property located in Charleston was linked to a biological lab case out of California.
The report details that Solomon was hired by David He, who was arrested in connection with the discovery of a “biological lab” found in Reedley, California. David goes by 4 different aliases, according to court documents. After his arrest, David made over 400 calls to Solomon while he was in jail.
Solomon was managing 37 Airbnb properties, said the report.
LVMPD arrested Solomon, who is facing charges of disposing and discharging hazardous waste. A criminal complaint obtained by FOX5 revealed that he also faces a federal charge for owning six firearms and violating the conditions of his visa.
Solomon appeared in federal court on Tuesday, where FOX5, the only news station in the room, spoke to members of Solomon’s family.
Solomon’s next court appearance is set for Friday, Jan. 6.
