LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — NV Energy has postponed the start of its new daily demand charge to later this year, giving the utility more time to strengthen customer support and education around the billing change.
According to a company news release issued Wednesday, the new start date has been moved to October 1, from the originally scheduled April 1 launch.

The daily demand component is designed to better reflect how a customer’s peak energy use affects the equipment that serves them. NV Energy says the delay will now allow it to provide clearer information and ensure customer service teams are fully prepared to answer questions.
The company is also continuing to issue refunds tied to a multi-family billing misclassification and says resolving those refunds remains a priority before adding the new daily demand line item.
With the updated schedule, NV Energy will further prepare its service teams to respond to inquiries and concerns about the daily demand charge ahead of its 2026 rollout, officials say.
