LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Four more people died on valley roadways this week, adding to a growing toll that safety officials say is largely preventable.
Updated figures from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department show 29 people have died on local roads in 2026 as of Tuesday. Authorities also note that the most common contributing factors include pedestrian error, failure to yield the right of way, and excessive speeding.
Year-to-date roadway deaths breakdown
(Jan. 1, 2026 – March 17, 2026):
- 15 pedestrian deaths
- 9 motorcycle/moped deaths
- 3 driver deaths
- 1 passenger death
- 1 bicyclist death
