LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Four people were injured following a multi-vehicle crash in southwest Las Vegas on Monday, officials with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department say.

The incident was reported around 9:30 a.m. near West Charleston Boulevard at South Cimarron Road.

According to police, a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado ran a red light at the intersection, hitting a 2012 Hyundai Sonata that was traveling along Cimarron. The impact then pushed both vehicles into the westbound lanes, where the Silverado then struck a stopped 2004 Chrysler Sebring.

The occupants of the Hyundai and Chrysler, were taken to UMC to be treated for injuries.

Authorities say the Hyundai’s driver suffered life-threatening injuries, while the passenger sustained substantial injuries. Both occupants of the Chrysler suffered moderate injuries.

The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as 32-year-old Richard Villatoro, remained at the scene and showed signs of impairment. He would later be arrested for DUI-related charges, police say.

This collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD’s Collision Investigation Section.
