LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The North Las Vegas Police Department has wrapped up a targeted distracted driving enforcement effort under Nevada’s Joining Forces program.
From April 3–20, 2026, officers made 251 enforcement contacts, issuing 214 citations and 66 warnings. Police said 60 citations were for distracted driving, with additional citations for violations such as speeding, unsafe lane changes and intersection issues.

NLVPD said officers also educated 26 drivers during contacts and devoted 103 overtime hours and 13.5 regular duty hours to the effort.
Enforcement in North Las Vegas focused along the Ann Road corridor following community complaints submitted through the city’s City Track system.
The campaign was supported by a grant from the Nevada Office of Traffic Safety and is part of Nevada’s Zero Fatalities initiative.
