LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Federal numbers show Nevada leading the nation in job growth, adding positions faster than any other state.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics says from February 2025 to February 2026, Nevada added 34,500 jobs, a 2.2% increase. That’s more than double the growth rate of the second-fastest-growing state, which was 0.8%.
Nevada also ranks in the top five for the total number of jobs added over the past year, a rare feat for a state with a smaller population. It’s the first time Nevada has been in that top five for a 12-month period since the early 2000s.

Job growth ‘unmatched anywhere else in the country’
DETR Chief Economist David Schmidt says Nevada has more jobs today than at any point in its history, and employers are adding positions at a pace “unmatched anywhere else in the country.”
Gov. Joe Lombardo says he’s excited to see Nevada “far outpacing the rest of the nation” in job growth. He called the state’s economy expanding and increasingly diverse, and said Nevada is a thriving place to live and work.
The strongest gains over the last year came in arts, entertainment and recreation, up 7.9%; information, up 7.2%; professional and business services, up 4.9%; and health care and social assistance, up 4.4%. Nevada ranks first or second nationally in job growth across those sectors.
