LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A weekend event at Las Vegas Motor Speedway led to problems off the track, police said, as some people tried to block intersections around the valley for street takeovers.

Police released video from Tropical Parkway and Celebration Way around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 26.

An air unit followed a suspect vehicle until it crashed, and officers would later arrest all the suspects involved.

Authorities said the incident was part of a three-day, zero-tolerance enforcement operation meant to stop takeovers before they spread.

Police reported 77 arrests (66 adults, 11 juveniles) and 59 vehicles towed or impounded, along with more than 10 attempted takeover locations disrupted.

Officials also said they identified 19 out-of-state participants and recovered four firearms.

Police said the effort included North Las Vegas Police, which worked to clear reckless groups in its areas, and Nevada State Police, which focused on the I-15 corridor to stop “rolling races” and other dangerous high-speed driving.
