LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A driver is suspected of impairment after crashing into a tree in the west valley Thursday morning, police say.
Around 4:56 a.m., officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to a call about a single vehicle striking a street in the 5700 block of Charleston Boulevard, near Jones Boulevard. Police say a witness observed the vehicle driving west in eastbound lanes before the crash.

Arriving medical crews transported the driver to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police add that the driver is suspected of being impaired by alcohol and will be taken into custody.

All lanes in the intersection were blocked around 5 a.m., and will remain blocked until further notice.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
