LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — UMC Hospital celebrated survivors of trauma and the doctors and nurses who saved them.

More than 200 people, including survivors, their families and UMC staff, attended the annual Trauma and Burn Survivor Celebration today at the Caesars Palace Ballroom.

The event highlighted the stories of some of those survivors, including Seth Nusz, who was left with serious burns after a car accident. He shared words of encouragement for other survivors of trauma.

“I would tell them to keep going,” Nusz said. “You can’t just give up.”

UMC is Nevada’s only nonprofit Level 1 trauma center and the only verified burn center. It cares for around 14,000 patients every year.
