LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Las Vegas police are searching for a suspect believed to be responsible for an early morning shooting that left one person with life-threatening injuries.

Officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to reports of a shooting in the 3800 block of Wynn Road, near Twain Avenue and Valley View Boulevard, around 1:36 a.m. Officers located a victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest, and immediately began giving them first aid until medical crews arrived.

The victim was then taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and was determined to have critical injuries.

Police add that the suspect fled the area after the shooting and currently remains outstanding.

An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
