LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Athletics players Tyler Soderstrom and Lawrence Butler visited the Boys & Girls of Southern Nevada’s summer youth program Tuesday, joining club members for a morning of wiffle ball, arts and crafts, and conversations with local kids.

The visit also included A’s alumni Tony Kemp and Eric Chavez, along with broadcasters Johnny Doskow, Chris Townsend and Amelia Schimmel. The team’s mascot, Stomper, also took part.

The appearance was presented by Nike, which partnered with the club and the Athletics to provide Nike gear to participating youth, organizers said in a news release.

The event was held as part of the Boys & Girls of Southern Nevada’s summer programming, which offers activities and supervised opportunities for area children.
