LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Nevada State Police said one person is dead and another is in custody after a driver sped recklessly through a crash scene on a Las Vegas-area freeway Wednesday, triggering an officer-involved shooting.
Investigators say troopers were investigating a crash on northbound I-11 near the Fourth Street on-ramp on June 10, 2026, when a separate vehicle drove into the scene recklessly and hit a tractor-trailer.
Police said the driver did not stop when troopers tried to intervene, continued through the crash area, and then drove toward a trooper, hitting the trooper and a nearby passenger vehicle. During the incident, a trooper fired their weapon, officials say.
The vehicle fled and was later found at a Las Vegas-area hospital. The driver was taken into custody and transported for medical treatment. FOX5 investigates later identified the suspect as Sean Shirazi.

A passenger from the vehicle was also taken to the hospital and later died. The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the person’s identity after next-of-kin notification and the identification process is complete.
Police said the trooper did not suffer serious injuries. The involved troopers have been placed on paid administrative leave, as required by department policy.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Force Investigation Team is investigating the officer-involved shooting.
Authorities said the information is preliminary and updates will be provided as the investigation continues.
