LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A woman accused of making a bomb threat at a downtown Las Vegas parking garage appeared in court Thursday and asked a judge to reduce her bail, but was denied.
Jessica Vazquez, 33, told the court she could not afford the bail amount, citing a disability, difficulty with employment, and concern for her pets at home. Judge Noreen Demonte said the bail was set by another judge and her court lacked jurisdiction to revisit it without a compelling legal reason.
“Your attorney, if there’s a valid legal reason to readdress it, she can certainly file something,” Judge Demonte said.

According to an arrest report, Vazquez attempted to leave a parking garage near 3rd Street and Clark Avenue on Monday and was told she needed to pay a $14 fee. She told a parking attendant there was a bomb in her vehicle.
When parking enforcement was dispatched to issue a citation for failure to pay, Vazquez approached and said, “I have a bomb, I have a bomb… there’s a bomb in the area.” She then left on foot and was later taken into custody.
The arrest report lists Vazquez’s prior history as nine domestic battery arrests since 2014, one assault arrest in 2021, and seven prior crisis intervention team entries between 2014 and 2023.
Vazquez was also ordered to stay away from the downtown Las Vegas parking garage. She is due back in court on Thursday, July 16 for a preliminary hearing.
