LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — New backpacks, notebooks, pens. A cart full of these supplies can add up fast. According to the National Retail Federation, families spend an average of more than $800 per child on back-to-school supplies. For valley families on a budget, that’s a high, but necessary, cost for education. That’s why FOX5 and its Take 5 To Care partners are sending out an S.O.S. — collecting school supplies for Southern Nevada students ahead of the 2026-2027 school year, with all donations benefiting the Salvation Army.
How to donate
Donations can be dropped off at Findlay Subaru of Las Vegas, located at 6455 W. Roy Horn Way, beginning July 10.
Monetary donations can also be made by texting SOS2026 to 51555.
Live broadcast locations
FOX5 will broadcast live from three Southern Nevada locations July 22–24, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Donations will be accepted at each site.
