LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Popular Chinatown shopping centers and businesses are getting help with critical repairs, improvements and safety equipment, all to keep business flowing through the booming corridor.
A Clark County-sponsored survey showed 23.9 million visits to Chinatown from April 2025 to April 2026; those numbers are more than double the visitation rates of Fremont Street and the Arts District, the survey showed.
FOX5 told you about the grant program earlier this year, which eventually expanded to accommodate more applicants. Property tax and sales tax dollars can be diverted to fund improvements.
The grant requires a percentage cash match from the business or shopping center; 26 applications were approved, according to the presentation before the Clark County Redevelopment Agency.

Some of the major shopping centers have millions of visits a year; dozens of businesses were granted funding for more than a hundred surveillance cameras across the corridor. Other major improvements include parking repaving and repainting, better lighting for overall safety, sign repairs or added signage, murals for public art or other amenities for visitors, such as outdoor seating areas or greenery.
As Korea Town holds more public events in its parking lot and welcomes more visitors to shop and eat inside, businesses want the area to be safer and more welcoming for workers and visitors.
Korea Town got the green light for a grant to fund parking lot improvements and greenery additions across the vast concrete lot.
“It’s really hot, and it’s going to create more of a walking vibe. It’s going to be safer when you’re walking around,” said Trustin Parkson of Bee Bear Cafe inside Korea Town.
