LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Clark County is accepting applications for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Citizen Review Board, a panel that reviews complaints and Internal Affairs investigations filed against LVMPD officers.

Board structure and eligibility
The board consists of 25 members and fills vacancies throughout the year. Terms are three years, and membership is voluntary and unpaid. Appointments are made by Clark County Commissioners and Las Vegas City Council members who serve on LVMPD’s Fiscal Affairs Committee.
To be eligible, applicants must be residents of unincorporated Clark County or the City of Las Vegas and must have no felony convictions. Elected officials, current or former LVMPD officers, and their family members are not permitted to serve.
Candidates must also have a flexible weekday schedule.
Training and panel duties
Selected members are required to complete a minimum of 70 hours of mandatory training, which includes a 10-hour police ride-along, the 12-week Citizen Police Academy, a jail tour, orientation training, and regular training sessions.
Board members review complaints on a rotating basis. Panels of five members are convened over six-month periods to hear cases, after which a new panel is selected. Members are randomly assigned and may serve on one to three panels during their term. Panel meetings are held during normal business hours once or twice a month and last approximately three hours.
