LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) is urging residents to turn off their landscape irrigation systems as the valley continues to see rainstorms throughout the rest of the week.
Las Vegas faces a 50% chance of thunderstorms Thursday afternoon and another 50% chance Friday, with rain possibly lingering into Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. Nighttime temperatures will remain in the high 70s all weekend, NWS officials add.
This comes after Southern Nevada has already seen several days of stormy weather.

Outdoor irrigation accounts for the vast majority of water consumed in Southern Nevada. To make conservation easier, the SNWA highlights that homeowners can utilize smart irrigation clocks to automatically pause watering during rain event.
The SNWA also offers a rebate covering half the purchase price of an eligible smart controller, up to $100.
