LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A man accused of stabbing a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police K9 officer during a barricade is also accused in a murder case in St. Louis, according to St. Louis authorities.
Thurman Lowe, 64, was taken into custody Friday in connection with a barricade and fire in downtown Las Vegas that later led to the stabbing of an LVMPD K9 officer, Enzo. K9 Enzo survived and was expected to make a full recovery, LVMPD said.
According to St. Louis County Police, Lowe is accused in the murder of Freddie Tribbett, 46. According to police, officers responded to a house fire at about 8:50 p.m. Jan. 9 and Tribbett was found dead inside the home.
According to a probable cause statement by St. Louis County prosecutors, Lowe was seen on camera saying he would kill Tribbett before pointing a firearm at Tribbett’s door, firing multiple round. Prosecutors allege that Lowe then set multiple items on fire before leaving the area, allegedly to hide any evidence of the killing.
Prosecutors said that Lowe was on parole following a 30-year sentence for rape, robbery and burglary charges from the 1980s. Online records show that Lowe is also on the Missouri State Highway Patrol sex offender registry in connection to a sodomy charge from 1982.
During a court hearing in Las Vegas Tuesday, Lowe didn’t appear in court due to medical reasons. His next hearing is set for April 4.
