LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – After accusations back and forth about bargaining, Virgin Hotels Las Vegas is expected to meet with union negotiators Tuesday morning.

A contract ended about a year ago and 700 union members wrapped up a two-day strike over the weekend outside the casino hotel.

“We’re not interested in listening to a lot of Wall Street gobbledygook. We’re interested in listening to a company that wants to treat their workers first class. And if that’s where we’re at then we’ll be there as long as it takes. But if not, we’ll see,” said Culinary Union Secretary-Treasurer Ted Pappageorge.

Negotiations will continue on Tuesday as workers seek a new contract.

The union says Virgin Hotels is not offering any wage increases as part of a new deal. Virgin Hotels officials have not commented to FOX5 on the wage complaint by the union. It has complained the union is bargaining in bad faith.

The casino hotel says the union has engaged in unlawful “take it or leave it” negotiating tactics and said an Executive Board scheduled a strike after canceling a meeting for May 2. The Culinary Union says it proposed several bargaining sessions that Virgin Hotels said no to.

The union tells FOX5 negotiations Tuesday morning will happen at Virgin Hotels.
