LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas police responded at approximately 11:26 a.m. on Friday morning after a motorcycle rider was critically injured in a crash with a pickup truck.
According to a police report, a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling northbound on N. Jones Blvd. in the right travel lane while a 2012 Kawasaki Ninja was also traveling north in the same lane. Police said that the motorcycle “failed to use due care” as the truck slowed to turn right into a private drive.
The crash happened when the motorcycle rider attempted to slow down abruptly, overturned the vehicle onto its right side and slid into the passenger side of the Silverado.
Responding emergency medical personnel took the Kawasaki rider by ambulance to University Medical Center’s Trauma Unit, with injuries determined to be life-threatening. The pickup truck’s driver remained at the collision scene and showed no signs of impairment.
This crash remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section.
