LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A portion of Las Vegas Boulevard will be reduced to one open northbound travel lane due to 24-hour construction work beginning this weekend.

The roadwork is happening from Park Avenue to Harmon Avenue starting at 9 p.m. on Sunday, June 2 until 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 6 as part of Clark County’s Las Vegas Boulevard Improvement Project. Most of the work associated with this project is happening Sunday through Friday, during evening through early morning hours.

The schedule of upcoming lane restrictions is as follows:

Las Vegas Boulevard 24-Hour Excavation & Pavement Resurfacing Work Zone

  • The northbound travel lane restrictions on Las Vegas Boulevard between Park and Harmon Avenue is for 24-hour excavation and paving work occurring Sunday through Thursday.  Other impacts include:
  • The Showcase parking garage and the service entrance to the garage between Target and Walgreens will be closed from 9 p.m. on Monday, June 3, through 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4.
  • The intersection of Aria and Las Vegas Boulevard will be closed to east-west traffic from 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, through 5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5.
  • All southbound left turn lanes from Las Vegas Boulevard to MGM Private Drive will be closed from 9 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, through 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 6.
  • Starting Sunday, June 16, through 5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19, Las Vegas Boulevard from Tropicana Avenue to MGM Private Drive will have one lane open for 24-hour work. The MGM Private Drive delivery exit to northbound Las Vegas Boulevard will be closed from 9 p.m. June 16 through 5 p.m. June 17.
  • Starting at 9 p.m. on Monday, June 17, through 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, northbound left turn lanes from Las Vegas Boulevard to Park Avenue will be reduced to one lane.
  • Starting, at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19, through 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, Las Vegas Boulevard from Harmon Avenue to Flamingo Road will have two lanes open northbound for 24-hour work.

12 a.m. to 9 a.m. Work Zone

  • Through Friday, June 21, Las Vegas Boulevard from Park Avenue to Reno Avenue will have two lanes open southbound for electrical and landscape work.
  • Starting on Sunday, June 2, through Friday, June 14, Las Vegas Boulevard from Harmon Avenue to Flamingo Road will have two lanes open northbound for waterline work.

Tropicana Avenue Work Zone, 8:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

  • Through Friday, June 7, Tropicana Avenue between Las Vegas Boulevard to Koval Lane will have two lanes open eastbound for median island removal.
  • Starting on Sunday, June 9, through Friday, June 14, Tropicana Avenue between Las Vegas Boulevard and Koval Lane will have two lanes open eastbound and westbound for milling and paving operations with intermittent driveway closures from 8:30 p.m. on June 9 through 6:30 a.m. on June 10.
  • Sunday, June 9 through Friday, June 21, the intersection of Tropicana Avenue at Las Vegas Boulevard will have two lanes open eastbound for waterline work.

This work is part of Phase E & F of a multi-phase project underway on Las Vegas Boulevard to upgrade infrastructure between Sahara Avenue and the 215 Beltway. Each phase includes water line replacement, new pavement, intersection modifications to improve pedestrian crossings, upgrades to traffic signals, LED street lighting systems with smart poles, and enhanced median landscaping.  

Commuters are advised that several agencies have construction projects underway in the resort corridor. Due to the fluid nature of construction activity and traffic conditions, work schedules can change on short notice.

Motorists should check navigation apps such as Waze, Google Maps or Apple Maps for the latest real-time information.
