LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – On the first day of the free agency period, two of the Vegas Golden Knights’ “Original Misfits” are among several players leaving the valley.

According to hockey insider Pierre LeBrun, the Nashville Predators are working to finalize a five-year deal with Marchessault.

The deal could also see him lock in a $5.5 million per year salary, totaling around $25 million.

ESPN has also reported that defenseman William Carrier has signed with the Carolina Hurricanes for a six-year, $12 million contract. Three-time Stanley Cup champion Alec Martinez is also expected to sign a one-year deal with the Chicago Blackhawks.

Additionally, according to multiple reports. Michael Amadio has signed a three-year, $7.8 million deal with the Ottawa Senators, while Anthony Mantha has struck a one-year, $3.5 million deal with the Calgary Flames.

The NHL is also reporting that Logan Thompson will be headed to the Washington Capitals, Paul Cotter is headed to the New Jersey Devils, and Chandler Stephenson will head north to the Seattle Kraken.

This news comes after goaltender Logan Thompson was traded to the Washington Capitals in exchange for two third-round picks in the 2024 and 2025 NHL Drafts.

As for new additions, the VGK have picked up Ilya Samsonov from the Toronto Maple Leafs.
