LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – In honor of this fall’s 50th Battle for the Fremont Cannon between UNLV and UNR, the Las Vegas Metro Police Department will take on a team from the Reno Police Department in a flag football event on July 27 at the Fertitta Football Complex Rebel Park fields on campus.
Tickets to the event, which is open to the public, cost $33 and also include a ticket to UNLV’s regular-season ending Mountain West matchup vs. the Wolf Pack at Allegiant Stadium on November 30. A limited number of tickets are available through July 26 by visiting https://fevo-enterprise.com/event/UNLVLVMPD. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Law Enforcement Assistance Fund (LEAF).

The flag football event will include a 50/50 raffle, emergency service vehicles to interact with and food and drink available for purchase from Smoke’n Sams BBQ. Gates open at 6 p.m. with kickoff slated for 7 p.m. Fans are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs for picnic-style seating on the fields. Parking at the nearby Earl E. Wilson Baseball Stadium and other surrounding lots is free of charge.
The Rebels will kick off their 57th season of football August 31 by heading to face Big 12 Conference member Houston in the first of a school-record 11 games to be shown by national television networks.
