LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Additional charges have been filed against a person accused of taking part in a fraud scheme involving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits.
The Nevada State Police Investigation Division arrested Mychelle Lay in March 2026 as part of an ongoing investigation into an alleged large-scale scheme involving the theft of personal identifying information and the trafficking of SNAP benefits.
Officials say Lay now faces:
- 21 counts of obtaining and using another person’s identifying information for an unlawful purpose
- 1 count of public assistance fraud
- 1 count of multiple transactions involving fraud or deceit in the course of an enterprise or occupation
- 1 count of theft ($25,000 or more but less than $100,000)
