LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Athletics visited Metro’s Joint Emergency Training Institute in the northeast valley Friday morning, where valley agencies practice mass-casualty and tactical response in a realistic training village.

The A’s were added to the foundation’s donor wall and presented a $25,000 donation to support training.

Former A’s pitcher and Baseball Hall of Famer Rollie Fingers was on hand for the tour.

“This is something that I’ve never seen before, Fingers said. “It’s pretty cool, they’ve got different buildings to maybe simulate something that happens in an apartment, or a house, or in a casino. They’ve got it all in here, and it’s pretty interesting.”

LVMPD says support from partners like the A’s helps improve training and keep both officers and the community safer.
