LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – When hundreds of the nation’s best athletes travel to Paris to compete in the 2024 Summer Olympic Games a southern Nevada native will be among them.

World-class shooter Lexi Lagan was born and raised in Boulder City.

Lagan also competed in the 2020 Tokyo games, and last year she medaled twice at the Pan-American Games in Chile.

She tells FOX5, she grew up going to Boulder City’s shooting range with her dad. At age ten, she started competing. Lagan needed special permission, because she was under the age limit. Her youth did not work against her at all.

“We had a mini-competition amongst all of the men and myself, and I ended up coming in first place, then second place, and then first place. And when I came in second place, I was crying,” she says.

Lagan’s back in the Valley visiting her family, but she lives, and trains, in Colorado most of the time. She tells us, that southern Nevada lacks a shooting range that meets her Olympic-level needs. Lagan’s looking for funding to establish a range that meets those specific competitve requirements.
