LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A Bullhead City Police Department employee and her boyfriend were both jailed early Wednesday morning after a domestic dispute escalated into choking and a stabbing, authorities said.

Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 1300 block of Lincoln Lane, near Tonopah and Lamb Boulevard at approximately 5:20 a.m.

Investigators learned that Alexia Antoinette Bossolono, 20, and her boyfriend, Diego Alberto Brito, 20, had been involved in an argument involving alcohol.

Brito allegedly grabbed Bossolono by the throat and restricted her breathing, prompting Bossolono to stab Brito in the chest with a knife, according to police.

Brito was treated at a local hospital and subsequently released.

Because of conflicting statements, officers arrested both individuals. Brito was booked into the Mohave County Jail in Kingman on charges of aggravated assault and disorderly conduct, both flagged as domestic violence offenses.

Bossolono, who is employed as a Community Service Aide for the Bullhead City Police Department, was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, disorderly conduct with a weapon, and domestic violence offenses. She has since been placed on administrative leave pending an internal investigation.

“While professionalism and impartiality are expectations of every member of our department, I commend our officers for handling this situation objectively and professionally, regardless of the employment status of those involved,” Bullhead City Police Chief Paul George said.

Chief George added that an internal inquiry will determine Bossolono’s continued employment.

“We hold every member of the Bullhead City Police Department, sworn officers and professional staff alike, to the highest standards of conduct.” Police Chief George said.
