LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Clark County Fire Department suspects arson to be the cause of a fire in the east valley Monday afternoon.

The department said a fire happened Monday around 1:48 p.m. in the 6000 block of Judson Avenue. This is near E. Lake Mead and Nellis boulevards. Dispatch received calls for a building fire.

The first engine arrived around 1:52 p.m. Firefighters said they found smoke showing from a side window of a double wide mobile home. Two occupants were able to self-evacuate and were outside when crews arrived.

Two additional people were reported to be inside the home. Crews entered the structure and were able to transport the two to UMC Hospital for smoke inhalation.

The North Las Vegas Fire Department and Las Vegas Fire and Rescue assisted.

Fire investigators believe arson was the cause of the fire. Southwest Gas and NV Energy were requested to secure utilities.

6 engines, 1 ladder truck, 4 rescues, 2 battalion chief’s and 3 fire investigators responded for a total of 41 personnel, the department said.
