LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) -The Clark County School District Superintendent announced the death of a school district police officer Wednesday night.

The officer died after a medical episode. In a social media post, CCSDPD identified the victim as Officer Andrew Craft, Badge P#603.

“With a heavy heart, I announce the passing of a Clark County School District Police Department officer,” said Dr. Jesus Jara. “This officer’s impact on our students, schools, and community is remembered fondly. Their time with us as a CCSDPD officer will not be soon forgotten.”

“To the officer’s family, the entire District and I honor his service to our students and staff and extend our heartfelt condolences,” Jara added.

A police procession was held from UMC, where the officer was treated, to the nearby coroner’s office. No other details were immediately available.
